Regional Director – Middle East & Europe

Based in UK or remotely from an MEE programme with significant travel

Salary: £61,380

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior manager to lead a regional portfolio of MAG programmes, with oversight of programme and project development, implementation and delivery and with a current annual value of approximately $30 million.

This is a fantastic opportunity to undertake a strategic and senior management role in an international NGO. As one of five Regional Directors, reporting to the Director of Programmes, you will lead and manage the Country Directors of MAG’s programmes in Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Bosnia to ensure the quality delivery of MAG’s operations and the compliance of grants and contracts.

The post holder will coordinate MAG’s regional strategic approach, supporting Country Directors in the development and implementation of business plans, including coordinating potential expansion into other countries and the development and strengthening of donor relationships. This is a challenging and varied role, offering the opportunity to use your wide-ranging management experience to influence the organisation and the wider sector. The post-holder will be expected to lead and coordinate complex networks of relationships across the region and beyond.

The successful candidate will have excellent project management, business planning and budget management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple activities at the same time. Experience of working in a senior management position in a development or humanitarian organisation is essential, and experience of working in humanitarian mine action sector would be highly advantageous. Experience of working in this region would also be an advantage. Regular travel will be essential in this role, which could be visiting a MAG programme, or to meet with donors or other stakeholders – you could be in Manchester one week, then Iraq or Syria after that. Arabic language skills are desirable for this role. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, this role will be remote, working from home, with travel as and when necessary.

This is a demanding but highly rewarding position that will be suited to a highly motivated, solution-focused and flexible manager. It will offer you the opportunity to use your strategic and leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.

Please note that as part of MAG's commitment to safeguarding, this post is subject to background checks before an offer of employment is confirmed.
