Programme Quality Director
Remote, in UK or globally, with significant worldwide travel
£66,552 per annum, plus contributory pension, if UK based.
About the role:
Reporting to the Director of Programmes, you will lead on improving the quality and performance of MAG’s global operations and activities to enhance MAG’s reputation and impact by supporting safe, efficient, and effective programme delivery.
We are looking for a values-led, resilient, and experienced senior manager who will lead our Programme Quality Team as well as be an active participant in the development and delivery of MAG’s Programmatic strategy, which is committed to meeting the changing needs of communities affected by conflict and insecurity. Together we can bring safety to 60 million people still living in fear.
Managing a team of approximately 20 staff within the Programme Quality Team, you will oversee three key areas that support MAG’s mission and the delivery of our organisational strategy. These are a standards, training and compliance unit, that ensures operational delivery is being delivered safely and efficiently; a programmes information management unit, supporting MAG’s programmes to manage information for reporting, monitoring and planning purposes; and a performance and learning unit, that aims to enhance the impact of MAG’s work in a range of cross-cutting areas, including gender, localisation, environment and conflict sensitivity.
As a senior manager in the Programmes Department, you will work closely with MAG’s Regional Directors and programmes as well as with our Policy and Strategic Partnerships Department to ensure that the PQT is supporting programmes appropriately and representing our work to external stakeholders effectively. Travel to programmes will be a key part of this role.
About you:
You will have an extensive background in leading programme delivery in both Mine Action and Armed Violence Reduction. You must have a strong understanding of compliance frameworks, quality management processes and training requirements as part of overall project development and delivery outcomes.
The ideal candidate will also have an in-depth appreciation of international standards, treaties and frameworks relevant to MAG’s operational activities, likely gained by operating at a senior level in the humanitarian mine action or armed violence reduction sector.
Please note that as part of MAG's commitment to safeguarding, this post is subject to background checks before an offer of employment is confirmed. For more information on MAG’s approach to background checks, please click here.
MAG is committed to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion. If you think you would be suited to this role, we would welcome your application regardless of your background.
