MAG vacancy: Interim Organisational Development Director

(3 months with possibility of extension to 6 months)

Competitive salary

The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is an exciting, dynamic organisation that works all over the world to find and destroy landmines and bombs, and make sure that some of the poorest and most vulnerable people can live free from fear. We have expanded significantly over the past three years and we have ambitious plans which mean we will need to develop and grow our organisational development strategy so we are as good as we can possibly be.

We’re seeking an interim Organisational Development Director to lead the analysis and addressing of the immediate development challenges and begin drawing up a strategy for MAG’s longer-term development. The post will initially be for three months with the possibility of extending for a further three months. During this time, MAG will be recruiting a permanent People and Organisational Development Director to continue this work.

This role will:

  • Provide key analysis, experience and support at a critical time to MAG’s organisational development.
  • Work with MAG’s Leadership Team to provide strategic leadership and oversight to the organisation to ensure a strong, sustainable future for MAG.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate proven expertise in the design of an organisational development strategy and will have experience working at a strategic level within a complex, preferably global organisation.

Further information on the tasks involved and experience required is included in the terms of reference, available in the application pack.

MAG would be pleased to consider interest on either a fixed term employment or consultancy basis. More information on this can be found in the Candidate Information Sheet, in the application pack. We would also welcome applications from individuals interested on a flexible basis, including part time or remote working with regular travel to our HQ in Manchester.

How to apply

Application for the role on a fixed term employee basis is by submission of a CV, covering letter and application support form. Interest in the work on a consultancy basis is by submission of a short proposal, including how you would approach the tasks, expected outputs and costs.  These should be sent to humanresources@maginternational.orgby the closing date of Wednesday 13 February 2019.

If you would like further information, you can arrange to have a conversation with MAG’s Chief Executive by contacting the Human Resources team using the email address above.

Due to the high volume of applications that we receive, we are not able to respond to every application. If you have not heard back from us within 3 weeks of applying, it means that your application has not been successful. Applicants on an ‘employee’ basis will need to demonstrate the right to work in the UK.
