Human Resources Officer (Programmes)

Manchester City Centre

Starting salary for this position is £25,272 per annum (plus contributory pension)

We are seeking an HR Officer to join our Human Resources team, which provides support and advice to MAG’s employees working in over 25 countries across the world. This is an exciting and dynamic role, where your HR skills and experience will help us make a real difference, supporting our lifesaving work across the globe!

Based in the United Kingdom, but working with managers based overseas, one of your key challenges will be to source, recruit and deploy staff to meet project needs. You will also have responsibility for providing generalist HR advice on terms and conditions and the application of HR policy.  You will also have the opportunity to use your HR skills and knowledge in developing and implementing new HR projects and initiatives. You will report to a HR Manager in this fast-paced role within a dynamic HR team, which will require a high level of initiative, pro-activeness and strong multi-tasking skills. This is an opportunity to use your HR experience for an international charity.

Ideally you will be a graduate member of the CIPD or working towards it, with existing experience in a generalist HR role. You will need to have experience of providing an efficient recruitment service and providing advice on a range of HR issues. Previous experience of working in international HR is not necessary, but you will need to rely on your varied HR resourcing experience and sound principles of people management. Above all, you will need to be approachable, flexible, have a good eye for detail and be ready to work in a busy and varied role in a fast-paced environment. You will also recognise that good HR practice can make a real difference to MAG’s success in saving lives and building futures.

The place of work will normally be our headquarters in Manchester. In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, and to ensure the health and wellbeing of everyone who works for MAG and their families we have put in place a new working arrangement – remote working from home - to reflect what is a rapidly changing situation. Therefore, you will initially be home based until we are able to return to working in our headquarters.

Please note that as part of MAG's commitment to safeguarding, this post is subject to background checks before an offer of employment is confirmed.

MAG is committed to the principles of diversity, equality and inclusion. If you think you would be suited to one of our roles we would welcome your application regardless of your background. We strive to provide an inclusive and supportive working environment where all employees feel respected and supported in fulfilling their potential.
