Diversity and Inclusion Consultant: Call for Proposals for an Independent Review

MAG is an international organisation made up of a myriad of people of different backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities working in complex and often challenging operating environments.

Building on MAG’s strategic direction and approach to gender and inclusion, we are committed to shaping the organisation so that everyone has an equal chance to work, learn, contribute and live free from discrimination, harassment and prejudice.  The Black Lives Matters (BLM) campaign has achieved what every good campaign should achieve and forced us to reconsider the course we are taking around diversity and inclusion and to ask ourselves whether this course is the right one.

We are now preparing to conduct a review into our organisational culture on diversity and inclusion. We recognise that to effect real and lasting change, this process needs to be thorough and wide-ranging and will need careful prioritisation. With this in mind, we are now requesting proposals from individuals who are interested in leading this review.

We are looking for:

  • Experts who are independent of MAG, with credible expertise, authoritative experience in diversity and inclusion issues and awareness of best practice across a wide range of organisations
  • Experience of reviewing organisational practice and conducting reflective group discussions that can help gain insights into what staff feel about their work, values and how they regard the organisation
  • Solid experience and understanding of working in an international NGO, along with proven ability to produce practical recommendations that will enable us to stretch our understanding of diversity and inclusion issues and support culture change. This will include measures that enable us to track, monitor and address areas we need to focus on.
